Saturn's Entry Into Aquarius -

What a week it’s been. For everyone, for every sign, in every corner of the world. An extraordinary event, the pandemic of COVID-19 is a sobering reminder that we are all made of the same stuff and that we all need to work in harmony together to make it through.

And whilst the stores, restaurants, bars, and theaters are closing, our personal shows are still going on. Whether we are isolated or whether we are on the front line providing essential services, all the usual trials and tribulations are still happening to us as individuals, exacerbated by this over-arching threat.

That is why your individual horoscope forecasts are so relevant. They are full of wise advice, deep insight and universal truth.

The astrology could hardly be more apt as Saturn (the planet of structure, restriction, and rules) enters Aquarius (the sign of friendship and society). And whilst Jupiter and Pluto’s series of convergences amplify a sense of worry and fear, they also help us uncover a sense of power. More on this further down.

That being said, we are in a uniquely difficult time in history, and the most important thing we can do is to avoid allowing panic or fear to drive our choices. This is good advice at any time but never more so than at this moment. Remember to reach deep to find your courage and your compassion, hopefully in equal measure. Where the two meet is where we will find the answers to the most difficult challenges and obstacles we face.

I hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe. I say this knowing this statement will carry more gravity in our current circumstances than it has in the past. Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the coronavirus. And we truly mean it.

We also want to thank each and every individual who is on the front lines helping us as a society find a way through the troubling and uncertain times we are experiencing. You are my heroes and will remain in my heart and in my prayers and those across the Shiny Souls’ Café community.

In your weekly newsletter two weeks ago, I wrote,

“Most people are attached to a set of personal beliefs in a way that prevents them from changing their minds even when new information becomes available. Often against overwhelming odds that what they believe is true, is actually true.

It isn’t information alone that holds us to our beliefs, but an emotional attachment formed at some other place and time, and chances are we can no longer remember when this or that particular belief became such a defining characteristic-if we ever could.  It is what we have always known without knowing how, or more likely what we were taught in our early childhood, which was accepted without question.

Now is such a time. You will be motivated to call on your courage, to open to the opportunities to imagine something different and to take the first steps to engage with the world on a new level.”

At the time I expressed those sentiments, I had no way of knowing how appropriate they would prove to be by the time you would be reading them, dear Shiny Soul, or, what would happen to them so poignant.

But now we find ourselves in a seriously different world, changing the way we interact with one another in every area of life and seeking the answers to what is most important to each of us.

Current alignments reflect the friction and intensity of the historic time in our lives I spoke of several weeks ago and in previous newsletters.

For anyone with half a brain, their own personal safety and security and that of those they love are at the top of their agenda. Although this is certainly an appropriate response, it is not enough to stop the growing numbers of people affected.

This is an all-in moment on a grand scale. A moment of solidarity in the midst of what can feel like an exercise in futility. It is past time the human race recognized the fact the world is a collection of individuals who together make up a greater whole. This means each choice we make has an influence on the larger community and the possible outcomes of this unusually transformative experience of the human race.

Let me be clear: you are already involved. No one gets to sit this one out. Your only choice is how you choose to respond.

Many have already chosen to do what they can to be part of the solution. Even if all they can do is practice social distancing, the bare minimum of common sense. And the one thing all of us can do that will be appreciated by everyone else, including those on the front line.

Many others are still finding their way. My heart and prayers also go out to these folks, as their journey may be one of the most transformational experiences of their lives. Heck, this is one of the most transformational experiences of all our lives.

I am probably not telling you anything you don’t already know, but I’ll say it for those who don’t yet believe we need to work together or follow the guidelines we have been asked to follow. It is still possible for the intensity and numbers affected by the pandemic to continue to climb on planet Earth as Mars and Jupiter close the gap with Pluto. Then there is Saturn’s change of sign, temporarily entering Aquarius until re-entering Capricorn on July 1st, then returning to Aquarius on December 17th for approximately the next 2½ years, followed quickly by Jupiter on December 19th. (You may need to adjust the dates for your time zone.)

One possibility for the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus could be the effects of global warming and the unusually warm weather we are experiencing. Just thinking.

Back to Saturn’s entry into Aquarius: It is my job to help you understand how planets express their energy. I do that by understanding the energy of not only the planets but also the signs they occupy. In this case, Saturn’s foray into Aquarius is the one element we have not experienced until now (it began on March 21st). Let’s take this in steps.

Here is a chart with the signs and planets labeled so you can follow along with the discussion. If you are not familiar with an astrology chart, the circle you see is divided by 12 lines that represent “houses” or areas of life in astrology. The outermost ring of 3 circles uses glyphs to represent the 30 degrees of each zodiac sign, the glyphs for planets and other points are shown in the middle ring and the innermost ring uses lines to demonstrate the most common alignments between the planets and the signs they occupy.

Here is the chart for Saturns ingress into Aquarius. Note how closely Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto are in Capricorn. Of course, Saturn at 0 degrees of Aquarius remains close enough to still be included in this stellium of planetary activity. Also note the Moon is moving toward the Sun getting ready for a New Moon in Aries on Mar 24th at 5:28 AM, EST.

What a week it’s been. For everyone, for every sign, in every corner of the world. An extraordinary event, the pandemic of COVID-19 is a sobering reminder that we are all made of the same stuff and that we all need to work in harmony together to make it through.

Shiny Soul's Cafe Newsletter Vol 5 3

Saturn is known in astrology as the Task Master. The capital letters are intentional. Saturn often brings a sense of pressure. Even in the best of situations, there is a seriousness and determination to take authority over or responsibility for an area of life (in astrology reference a specific house occupied) to become more productive and efficient. The sign Saturn occupies gives us a clue “how” this might be done; the house tells us the “where”. Planets and signs tend to reveal the choices under consideration and skills we need to develop, resulting in a more or less productive way forward.

Aquarius is the sign associated with social networks, such as the citizens of a nation, the congregation of a church, the students in a class, the regulars in the local bar or (on the largest scale) the human race. People who group, align, or associate in some way with others.

Along with holding rulership status of Capricorn, Saturn holds the same status of Aquarius according to ancient astrologers (long before modern astrologers assigned Uranus as co-ruler). This is an important point most modern astrologers neglect to consider – Saturn’s rulership of Aquarius. This fails to consider a significant part of the energy expressed by the sign Aquarius as well as the planets Saturn and Uranus as co-rulers of one of the most interesting signs of the zodiac.

Saturn represents the form, structures, and traditions any society needs to function properly. The people of a town, state, and country need laws and structures to provide services and safety to citizens. Rituals and traditions of organized religion serve to provide a sense of authority, reassurance and a feeling of belonging to their congregations. Students are required to avoid being disruptive so they and others have a proper learning environment.

The point is, as we individuals to take responsibility for personal choices and actions that influence on the larger whole, so each member of the group can benefit by our association with and within the groups to which we belong or wish to belong – our “social networks”.

Establishing guidelines or rules of engagement helps those who serve the group serve us more productively and effectively. Yet it is up to each of us to take personal responsibility to know and choose to engage with the group in a productive way in order for the group to function and to benefit the whole.

Now we have a new set of rules. Rules that in some cases change daily. We all know or at least suspect these rules may not be the last or the most effective. There are a lot of unknowns.

What we do know is if we don’t do what we can to be part of the solution, we are part of the problem.

With Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto in such close and prolonged contact, for some the emotions of panic and fear may feel overwhelming. You will know this is happening when a reasonable response begins to cause an inability to make rational decisions. This is when it is a good time to take a step back and check our responses.

What might be more helpful is taking advantage of having more time alone or at home to learn how to meditate, or to get your house in order rather than letting these emotions take over your life. All of us have projects or paperwork we have wanted to take care of.  Imagine how much better you will feel without these things hanging around.

Going to war against panic and fear has a way of encouraging them to increase instead of dissipating. Trying to hold onto a sense of peace or denial at all costs is akin to trying to hold on to a hand full of sand or water by closing your hand into a fist. Instead, I suggest you consider your fears and the fears of those close to you with a non-judgmental, open mind – allowing them, one at a time, to reveal where you can offer assistance to others or make adjustments in the personal beliefs and mindset that may be causing them to become paralyzing expressions of your concerns.

If necessary, repeat to yourself, “At this moment, I am safe. At this moment, I am alright. At this moment, I am enough. At this very moment, I am. Breathing with each statement. Repeating the process until you feel relief from your most intense emotions.

Although each of us will respond to the current environment in various ways, I hope to provide you information that can offer an alternative perspective on the experience we are sharing and which will take your awareness to a deeper level than the typical astrology site.

We at Soul of Chiron (aka “Shiny Soul’s’ Café”) provide something more, something deeper than most astrology sites dare dream to offer. That something is accurate information, can use in a real way to see possibilities you can integrate into your life to make choices appropriate for you on a personal level.

Your week ahead horoscopes are now available. We hope you’ll find the information they contain is as pertinent, comforting, and reassuring as always.

Have a great week and enjoy your weekly horoscopes.

Blessing,

When planets change sign

The alignments taking place throughout this month between the inner faster-moving planets, Mercury, Venus and Mars and the outer slower-moving planets of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto will be highlighted by the Virgo Full moon this week, taking place on March 9th. This is the same day Mercury ends retrograde in the last few degrees of Aquarius before re-entering Pisces next week on the 16th.

When planets change sign there is often a change of perspective. In this case from the subconscious emotional energy of Pisces to the collective intelligence and detached logical energy of Aquarius and back again next week. Though Mercury retrogrades can seem to be a bit difficult to navigate at times, the information one gains by reviewing or reevaluating what they think they know can be just what they need to finally change one’s trajectory.

The entire world seems to have made up their mind on any number of subjects from what they will have for dinner to “I will only vote for your politician or party of choice in the next election.” Both of which are subject to change given enough time and information. Yet most people are attached to a set of personal beliefs in a way that prevents them from changing their minds even when new information becomes available. Often against overwhelming odds what they believe is true, is actually true. What if you never liked broccoli but grandma would like you to try it the way she makes it?

It isn’t information alone that holds us to your beliefs but an emotional attachment formed at some other place and time, and chances are we can no longer remember when this or that particular belief became such a defining characteristic if we ever could. It is what we have always known without knowing how, or more likely what we were taught in our early childhood, which was accepted without question.

Yet we know we have reached a turning point when we feel the friction between what we think we know and what is being presented to us in the here and now. But it takes time, courage and a willingness to go beyond what we think we know before one can open oneself to something else being possible.

Now is such a time. You will be motivated to call on your courage to open to the opportunities to imagine something different and to take the first steps to engage with the world on a new level.

As we enter this week the Sun meets with Neptune just prior to this month’s Virgo Full Moon. Where Neptune and Pisces have a gift for blurring the lines Virgo, has a way of being exact and discerning. While we attempt to balance these aspects within ourselves, we have more than enough going on to make us question most, if not all of the ideas and beliefs we hold sacred. This is true at almost any time in history but this month provides us with special reasons for reconsidering what we consider most important in our lives.

A belief was once described to me as an idea one believes to be true meaning another idea is not, regardless of whether it is or not. This is linear thinking, the sort of either-or thinking we generally use for problem-solving. Linear thinking requires one to choose between one of two ideas. Good or bad, right or wrong. It dismisses the fact that some things are neither good or bad nor right or wrong. Remember the commercial with the line “Choosey Mothers Choose Jiff.” if you believe that one, what does that say about your Mom or even you?

Creative thinking allows your mind to choose various parts of available ideas to form a new idea and a set of beliefs based on a new combination of insight and information. As with the brand of peanut butter you choose to buy, you and only you can choose the ideas and beliefs you deem most valuable. One of the benefits of considering the world is filled with more options than good and bad or right or wrong is that your ability to problem-solve and express who you are just multiplied beyond imagination.

Even so, some ideas or any combinations of ideas, will stand the test of time for another round of testing later down the road, and some will not. Yet one of the only things we have in the end is the beliefs to live by. It is time yours reflected who you are and who you wish to become.

Have a great week and enjoy your weekly horoscopes.

Venus with Uranus in Taurus

I ended the article in our monthly newsletter by mentioning the upcoming activity of Mercury,
Venus and Mars and the contact they will be making during their transits through Taurus, Pisces, and Capricorn.
I specifically mentioned by the “unusual astrology of our generation”. I am referring to the contact of Venus with Uranus in Taurus, Mercury with Neptune in Pisces as well as the collection of planets Mars is in contact with, in Capricorn, Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn taking place this month.

Faster moving planets tend to have a way of adding pressure and excitement to the way we experience the energy of slower-moving outer planets, drawing our attention to the areas of our chart and therefore our lives they currently occupy.

Mercury, Venus, and Mars orbit around the sun at a considerably faster speed taking from 1 to 2 years to make a full trip around. Which is lightning speed, considering that it takes Uranus 84 years, Neptune 165 years, and Pluto 248 years approximately to make the same journey.

You could consider Venus and Mars the Yin and Yang of the zodiac. Where Venus is located in one’s chart says a lot about what they value and what one would like to attract more of, while Mars’ placement provides information about what motivates one to take action and to assert their will when a more direct approach is needed. Mercury is known as the winged messenger of the gods and is in the business of disseminating information and helping one to gain understanding and knowledge. Mercury is also involved in commerce. Mercury’s placement in one’s chart provides insight into how a person thinks and perceives the world around them.

While the activity of Mercury, Venus, and Mars has enough material for a weekend astrology seminar, I will do my best to relate it in a couple of paragraphs.

Shiny Soul's Cafe Newsletter Vol 3 36In summary, this is a month when it becomes necessary to address the more practical aspects of the changes and transformations of which we are in the process of bringing into our tangible awareness. Meaning we can relate changes to actual events taking place in our lives.

Mars, for instance, may push one to take certain risks they have wanted to take for some time. This has a way of creating a sort of domino effect in other areas of our lives. The truth is more likely that you have become uncomfortable or bored with certain aspects of the status quo. Yet this doesn’t need to be a time of taking aggressive action or of chaos. People tend to suffer from a knee jerk response to feelings of discomfort when they are not sure how to express their desire or fear it will be met with ridicule. Like ripping the bandaid off a wound, they just want a sudden release, when it is best to take a long hot bath and let the water loosen the adhesive a little.

In the first few weeks of this month, spend time asking your self questions so you have a deeper understanding of what is motivating your discomfort and your desire. It is easier to pose changes to others when you know what is important to you and you have at least some idea of how the change you want would benefit others. This is called a win-win solution. And there is a path to a sort of all-around compromise if one is of a mind to look.

I can see the possibility of an insightful and unusual solution to the challenges presented by Mars making contact with the powerful energy of Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn in Capricorn in part because of the upcoming meeting of Venus and Uranus in a fellow earth sign Taurus. Taurus which favors a more practical approach as well, yet one with a surprising or unusual twist with Uranus in the picture. Remember Venus draws to one that which they value. Uranus, like Neptune, and Pluto is an outer planet whose energy we must learn to navigate by feeling and integrated a that part of us that exist outside the bounds of personal experience and knowledge into our awareness. This month will provide plenty of experience for those who are open and available to see the gifts and knowledge the planet of surprise and sudden changes can bring.

Last but not least, the Sun, followed by Mercury (after returning to Pisces on March 16th) will make direct contact with Neptune this month. There is a feeling of being in denial or confused in some way as Neptune has a way of dissolving boundaries and softening the crusty hard edges of what we know as reality. Making the world appear less abrupt and intrusive than it can be on one’s sensitive emotional state. Yet Mercury’s retrograde has drawn attention to the way we humans have of letting things, people and knowledge slip into the background unnoticed. This is the material to bring out into the light. And to see what those missing or lost pieces of emotional awareness have to reveal about who you are and who you would like to be.

Shiny Soul's Cafe Newsletter Vol 3 37Here are a few questions to ask your self as you travel through this month’s terrain. Is what you thought you wanted in the past still true for you today? This is an important review to conduct every now and then, preferably often. Update your files. Wanting is the primary factor driving existence on the material plane.

Make sure what you think you want is really what you want, and if it’s not, stop, and ask yourself what is true for you today. Ask yourself every day, many times.

What do I really want? What do I need to understand, value or act on to make this a reality?

And of course as always if you would like, I am always here to offer assistance along the way.

Have a great week and enjoy your weekly horoscopes.
Blessing,
Dorothy, Bernie, Mary Beth and Millie

Aries New Moon

It’s my role as your astrology to look ahead at the flow of energy so I might offer you information and guidance about what this week, month or year ahead might bring. It is like akin to providing you with a map of territory you have not yet entered. Some times this is easier said than done. Then sometimes a chart speaks so clearly there is no doubt where one’s attention will be focused. This is one of those months. One of those moments in time when the landscape seems to shift under our feet on both a personal level and on the world stage.

The Aries New Moon, which is exact on March 24th is a chart whose message comes in several main layers. One is the presentation, which you might think of as the press release. The other is what’s really going on with you.

One is the crust; the other is the deeper substance, which may seem a bit unfathomable at the moment, like a vast undersea world.

The surface layer is related to what is going on in the world around you. What you see in the news and read on social media. This is a kind of public relations position, very common in our era (we might think of “social media” as a PR campaign, where everyone serves as their own representative).

This is an aspect that speaks loudly. Jupiter is involved, and Mars in Capricorn also wants to be seen and noticed.

Shiny Soul's Cafe Newsletter March 2020 Edition 55

The deeper layer is what you’re really feeling, which is much more ambiguous. This involves Mercury retrograde until March 9th. This is bubbling with questions, and with a sense of inner contradiction. You may be experiencing emotions that you don’t understand, or that seem to drag you back into the past.

Past material may be trying to surface. There is a sense of needing to let go of an attachment to the past you no longer need or desire to carry with you into the future.

The theme of the month may seem to be “what do I reveal to others about my real feelings?” Yet the actual theme is about what you admit to yourself. It’s one thing to put on a face for the world; it’s another to put on a face in the mirror.

Mercury’s Retrograde has been in close contact with Nessus, a deeply influential centaur (Chiron-like planet). This may have arrived with questions about how you feel about certain past transgressions and mistreatment.

You may have discovered some unresolved feelings, and potentially some anger. Rather than pushing this back down, let it come to the surface. Alternately, you may be figuring out what you want, only to discover that there is something blocking you. Now is the time to carefully address those blockages. They may not be made of what you think they are made of.

And Then There’s Mercury, Venus and Mars Making Contact With the Unusual Astrology of Our Generation. Which you can read about in our tomorrow’s weekly newsletter.

Enjoy your March horoscopes.

NOTE: Due to the 1st of the month falling on the same day as the weekly publication, to avoid inundating you with information all at once, we will publish the weekly newsletter tomorrow morning. However, both your weekly and monthly horoscopes are now available on our website at www.soulofchiron.com.

Thank you.
