Saturn's Entry Into Aquarius -

What a week it’s been. For everyone, for every sign, in every corner of the world. An extraordinary event, the pandemic of COVID-19 is a sobering reminder that we are all made of the same stuff and that we all need to work in harmony together to make it through.

And whilst the stores, restaurants, bars, and theaters are closing, our personal shows are still going on. Whether we are isolated or whether we are on the front line providing essential services, all the usual trials and tribulations are still happening to us as individuals, exacerbated by this over-arching threat.

That is why your individual horoscope forecasts are so relevant. They are full of wise advice, deep insight and universal truth.

The astrology could hardly be more apt as Saturn (the planet of structure, restriction, and rules) enters Aquarius (the sign of friendship and society). And whilst Jupiter and Pluto’s series of convergences amplify a sense of worry and fear, they also help us uncover a sense of power. More on this further down.

That being said, we are in a uniquely difficult time in history, and the most important thing we can do is to avoid allowing panic or fear to drive our choices. This is good advice at any time but never more so than at this moment. Remember to reach deep to find your courage and your compassion, hopefully in equal measure. Where the two meet is where we will find the answers to the most difficult challenges and obstacles we face.

I hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe. I say this knowing this statement will carry more gravity in our current circumstances than it has in the past. Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the coronavirus. And we truly mean it.

We also want to thank each and every individual who is on the front lines helping us as a society find a way through the troubling and uncertain times we are experiencing. You are my heroes and will remain in my heart and in my prayers and those across the Shiny Souls’ Café community.

In your weekly newsletter two weeks ago, I wrote,

“Most people are attached to a set of personal beliefs in a way that prevents them from changing their minds even when new information becomes available. Often against overwhelming odds that what they believe is true, is actually true.

It isn’t information alone that holds us to our beliefs, but an emotional attachment formed at some other place and time, and chances are we can no longer remember when this or that particular belief became such a defining characteristic-if we ever could.  It is what we have always known without knowing how, or more likely what we were taught in our early childhood, which was accepted without question.

Yet we know we have reached a turning point when we feel the friction between what we think we know and what is being presented to us in the here and now. But it takes time, courage and a willingness to go beyond, what we think we know before we can open ourselves to something else being possible.

Now is such a time. You will be motivated to call on your courage, to open to the opportunities to imagine something different and to take the first steps to engage with the world on a new level.”

At the time I expressed those sentiments, I had no way of knowing how appropriate they would prove to be by the time you would be reading them, dear Shiny Soul, or, what would happen to them so poignant.

But now we find ourselves in a seriously different world, changing the way we interact with one another in every area of life and seeking the answers to what is most important to each of us.

Current alignments reflect the friction and intensity of the historic time in our lives I spoke of several weeks ago and in previous newsletters.

For anyone with half a brain, their own personal safety and security and that of those they love are at the top of their agenda. Although this is certainly an appropriate response, it is not enough to stop the growing numbers of people affected.

This is an all-in moment on a grand scale. A moment of solidarity in the midst of what can feel like an exercise in futility. It is past time the human race recognized the fact the world is a collection of individuals who together make up a greater whole. This means each choice we make has an influence on the larger community and the possible outcomes of this unusually transformative experience of the human race.

Let me be clear: you are already involved. No one gets to sit this one out. Your only choice is how you choose to respond.

Many have already chosen to do what they can to be part of the solution. Even if all they can do is practice social distancing, the bare minimum of common sense. And the one thing all of us can do that will be appreciated by everyone else, including those on the front line.

Many others are still finding their way. My heart and prayers also go out to these folks, as their journey may be one of the most transformational experiences of their lives. Heck, this is one of the most transformational experiences of all our lives.

I am probably not telling you anything you don’t already know, but I’ll say it for those who don’t yet believe we need to work together or follow the guidelines we have been asked to follow. It is still possible for the intensity and numbers affected by the pandemic to continue to climb on planet Earth as Mars and Jupiter close the gap with Pluto. Then there is Saturn’s change of sign, temporarily entering Aquarius until re-entering Capricorn on July 1st, then returning to Aquarius on December 17th for approximately the next 2½ years, followed quickly by Jupiter on December 19th. (You may need to adjust the dates for your time zone.)

One possibility for the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus could be the effects of global warming and the unusually warm weather we are experiencing. Just thinking.

Back to Saturn’s entry into Aquarius: It is my job to help you understand how planets express their energy. I do that by understanding the energy of not only the planets but also the signs they occupy. In this case, Saturn’s foray into Aquarius is the one element we have not experienced until now (it began on March 21st). Let’s take this in steps.

Here is a chart with the signs and planets labeled so you can follow along with the discussion. If you are not familiar with an astrology chart, the circle you see is divided by 12 lines that represent “houses” or areas of life in astrology. The outermost ring of 3 circles uses glyphs to represent the 30 degrees of each zodiac sign, the glyphs for planets and other points are shown in the middle ring and the innermost ring uses lines to demonstrate the most common alignments between the planets and the signs they occupy.

Here is the chart for Saturns ingress into Aquarius. Note how closely Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto are in Capricorn. Of course, Saturn at 0 degrees of Aquarius remains close enough to still be included in this stellium of planetary activity. Also note the Moon is moving toward the Sun getting ready for a New Moon in Aries on Mar 24th at 5:28 AM, EST.

What a week it’s been. For everyone, for every sign, in every corner of the world. An extraordinary event, the pandemic of COVID-19 is a sobering reminder that we are all made of the same stuff and that we all need to work in harmony together to make it through.

Shiny Soul's Cafe Newsletter Vol 5 3

Saturn is known in astrology as the Task Master. The capital letters are intentional. Saturn often brings a sense of pressure. Even in the best of situations, there is a seriousness and determination to take authority over or responsibility for an area of life (in astrology reference a specific house occupied) to become more productive and efficient. The sign Saturn occupies gives us a clue “how” this might be done; the house tells us the “where”. Planets and signs tend to reveal the choices under consideration and skills we need to develop, resulting in a more or less productive way forward.

Aquarius is the sign associated with social networks, such as the citizens of a nation, the congregation of a church, the students in a class, the regulars in the local bar or (on the largest scale) the human race. People who group, align, or associate in some way with others.

Along with holding rulership status of Capricorn, Saturn holds the same status of Aquarius according to ancient astrologers (long before modern astrologers assigned Uranus as co-ruler). This is an important point most modern astrologers neglect to consider – Saturn’s rulership of Aquarius. This fails to consider a significant part of the energy expressed by the sign Aquarius as well as the planets Saturn and Uranus as co-rulers of one of the most interesting signs of the zodiac.

Saturn represents the form, structures, and traditions any society needs to function properly. The people of a town, state, and country need laws and structures to provide services and safety to citizens. Rituals and traditions of organized religion serve to provide a sense of authority, reassurance and a feeling of belonging to their congregations. Students are required to avoid being disruptive so they and others have a proper learning environment.

The point is, as we individuals to take responsibility for personal choices and actions that influence on the larger whole, so each member of the group can benefit by our association with and within the groups to which we belong or wish to belong – our “social networks”.

Establishing guidelines or rules of engagement helps those who serve the group serve us more productively and effectively. Yet it is up to each of us to take personal responsibility to know and choose to engage with the group in a productive way in order for the group to function and to benefit the whole.

Now we have a new set of rules. Rules that in some cases change daily. We all know or at least suspect these rules may not be the last or the most effective. There are a lot of unknowns.

What we do know is if we don’t do what we can to be part of the solution, we are part of the problem.

With Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto in such close and prolonged contact, for some the emotions of panic and fear may feel overwhelming. You will know this is happening when a reasonable response begins to cause an inability to make rational decisions. This is when it is a good time to take a step back and check our responses.

What might be more helpful is taking advantage of having more time alone or at home to learn how to meditate, or to get your house in order rather than letting these emotions take over your life. All of us have projects or paperwork we have wanted to take care of.  Imagine how much better you will feel without these things hanging around.

Going to war against panic and fear has a way of encouraging them to increase instead of dissipating. Trying to hold onto a sense of peace or denial at all costs is akin to trying to hold on to a hand full of sand or water by closing your hand into a fist. Instead, I suggest you consider your fears and the fears of those close to you with a non-judgmental, open mind – allowing them, one at a time, to reveal where you can offer assistance to others or make adjustments in the personal beliefs and mindset that may be causing them to become paralyzing expressions of your concerns.

If necessary, repeat to yourself, “At this moment, I am safe. At this moment, I am alright. At this moment, I am enough. At this very moment, I am. Breathing with each statement. Repeating the process until you feel relief from your most intense emotions.

Although each of us will respond to the current environment in various ways, I hope to provide you information that can offer an alternative perspective on the experience we are sharing and which will take your awareness to a deeper level than the typical astrology site.

We at Soul of Chiron (aka “Shiny Soul’s’ Café”) provide something more, something deeper than most astrology sites dare dream to offer. That something is accurate information, can use in a real way to see possibilities you can integrate into your life to make choices appropriate for you on a personal level.

Your week ahead horoscopes are now available. We hope you’ll find the information they contain is as pertinent, comforting, and reassuring as always.

Have a great week and enjoy your weekly horoscopes.

Blessing,
