What a week it’s been. For everyone, for every sign, in every corner of the world. An extraordinary event, the pandemic of COVID-19 is a sobering reminder that we are all made of the same stuff and that we all need to work in harmony together to make it through.
And whilst the stores, restaurants, bars, and theaters are closing, our personal shows are still going on. Whether we are isolated or whether we are on the front line providing essential services, all the usual trials and tribulations are still happening to us as individuals, exacerbated by this over-arching threat.
That is why your individual horoscope forecasts are so relevant. They are full of wise advice, deep insight and universal truth.
The astrology could hardly be more apt as Saturn (the planet of structure, restriction, and rules) enters Aquarius (the sign of friendship and society). And whilst Jupiter and Pluto’s series of convergences amplify a sense of worry and fear, they also help us uncover a sense of power. More on this further down.
That being said, we are in a uniquely difficult time in history, and the most important thing we can do is to avoid allowing panic or fear to drive our choices. This is good advice at any time but never more so than at this moment. Remember to reach deep to find your courage and your compassion, hopefully in equal measure. Where the two meet is where we will find the answers to the most difficult challenges and obstacles we face.
I hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe. I say this knowing this statement will carry more gravity in our current circumstances than it has in the past. Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the coronavirus. And we truly mean it.
We also want to thank each and every individual who is on the front lines helping us as a society find a way through the troubling and uncertain times we are experiencing. You are my heroes and will remain in my heart and in my prayers and those across the Shiny Souls’ Café community.
In your weekly newsletter two weeks ago, I wrote,
“Most people are attached to a set of personal beliefs in a way that prevents them from changing their minds even when new information becomes available. Often against overwhelming odds that what they believe is true, is actually true.
It isn’t information alone that holds us to our beliefs, but an emotional attachment formed at some other place and time, and chances are we can no longer remember when this or that particular belief became such a defining characteristic-if we ever could. It is what we have always known without knowing how, or more likely what we were taught in our early childhood, which was accepted without question.
Yet we know we have reached a turning point when we feel the friction between what we think we know and what is being presented to us in the here and now. But it takes time, courage and a willingness to go beyond, what we think we know before we can open ourselves to something else being possible.
Now is such a time. You will be motivated to call on your courage, to open to the opportunities to imagine something different and to take the first steps to engage with the world on a new level.”
At the time I expressed those sentiments, I had no way of knowing how appropriate they would prove to be by the time you would be reading them, dear Shiny Soul, or, what would happen to them so poignant.
But now we find ourselves in a seriously different world, changing the way we interact with one another in every area of life and seeking the answers to what is most important to each of us.
Current alignments reflect the friction and intensity of the historic time in our lives I spoke of several weeks ago and in previous newsletters.
For anyone with half a brain, their own personal safety and security and that of those they love are at the top of their agenda. Although this is certainly an appropriate response, it is not enough to stop the growing numbers of people affected.
This is an all-in moment on a grand scale. A moment of solidarity in the midst of what can feel like an exercise in futility. It is past time the human race recognized the fact the world is a collection of individuals who together make up a greater whole. This means each choice we make has an influence on the larger community and the possible outcomes of this unusually transformative experience of the human race.
Let me be clear: you are already involved. No one gets to sit this one out. Your only choice is how you choose to respond.
Many have already chosen to do what they can to be part of the solution. Even if all they can do is practice social distancing, the bare minimum of common sense. And the one thing all of us can do that will be appreciated by everyone else, including those on the front line.
Many others are still finding their way. My heart and prayers also go out to these folks, as their journey may be one of the most transformational experiences of their lives. Heck, this is one of the most transformational experiences of all our lives.
I am probably not telling you anything you don’t already know, but I’ll say it for those who don’t yet believe we need to work together or follow the guidelines we have been asked to follow. It is still possible for the intensity and numbers affected by the pandemic to continue to climb on planet Earth as Mars and Jupiter close the gap with Pluto. Then there is Saturn’s change of sign, temporarily entering Aquarius until re-entering Capricorn on July 1st, then returning to Aquarius on December 17th for approximately the next 2½ years, followed quickly by Jupiter on December 19th. (You may need to adjust the dates for your time zone.)
One possibility for the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus could be the effects of global warming and the unusually warm weather we are experiencing. Just thinking.
Back to Saturn’s entry into Aquarius: It is my job to help you understand how planets express their energy. I do that by understanding the energy of not only the planets but also the signs they occupy. In this case, Saturn’s foray into Aquarius is the one element we have not experienced until now (it began on March 21st). Let’s take this in steps.
Here is a chart with the signs and planets labeled so you can follow along with the discussion. If you are not familiar with an astrology chart, the circle you see is divided by 12 lines that represent “houses” or areas of life in astrology. The outermost ring of 3 circles uses glyphs to represent the 30 degrees of each zodiac sign, the glyphs for planets and other points are shown in the middle ring and the innermost ring uses lines to demonstrate the most common alignments between the planets and the signs they occupy.
Here is the chart for Saturns ingress into Aquarius. Note how closely Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto are in Capricorn. Of course, Saturn at 0 degrees of Aquarius remains close enough to still be included in this stellium of planetary activity. Also note the Moon is moving toward the Sun getting ready for a New Moon in Aries on Mar 24th at 5:28 AM, EST.
